Prof MS Muthu, Chairs the Centre for Early Childhood Caries Research (CECCRe), at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, India. He was awarded the Fellow of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry in 2022 and the BR Vacher Oration in 2023. He has 130 plus PubMed-indexed publications. That includes 35 systematic reviews out of which 5 are Cochrane systematic reviews. He was the first Indian to win the AAPD’s 2020 Paul P Taylor Award for the best publication of the year. He is the first Indian dentist from a dental school to get extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health (USA) for the project on Sustained Anticipatory Guidance (SAG) to prevent Early Childhood Caries. He is the Chair of the Global Task Force on “Cleft Without Caries”. His major contributions to Pediatric Dentistry are the modified Talons cusp classification, classification of dens evaginatus, OXIS classification of interproximal contacts, FeAST scale, TeDiE (teddy) technique of administering local anesthetics to children, and the concept of Sustained Anticipatory Guidance (SAG). He is the Co-founder of Ignobilis Terrain LLP
