Case Report:
A 10-year-old female presented with ectopic eruption of tooth #14, causing resorption of the distal root of tooth #J. Periapical radiographs confirmed the diagnosis. The treatment plan included the extraction of tooth #J and placing a Halterman appliance to distalize tooth #14. Follow-up visits every 4 weeks ensured proper appliance adjustments. After seven months, the position of tooth #14 was corrected, creating adequate space for tooth #13 to erupt.
Conclusion:
This case highlights the efficacy of the Halterman appliance in managing ectopic first permanent molar eruption. It underscores the importance of individualized treatment planning and regular follow-up to ensure optimal outcomes in pediatric orthodontics.
