Karina Tom, DDS is currently a 2nd year Pediatric Dental Resident at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, a board-approved hospital-based residency program. Dr. Tom earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco. During her residency, she has developed a strong interest in restorative techniques for developmental dental defects such as molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH), and her current research focuses on clinical trends and provider confidence in the use of stainless steel crowns (SSCs) for hypoplastic molars.
Originally from San Francisco, California, Dr. Tom is excited to be returning to the West Coast after graduation to begin practicing pediatric dentistry in Los Angeles. She is passionate about providing evidence-based, compassionate care, and hopes to one day open her own practice. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys basketball, running, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
