Ava Arshadi, DDS
Pediatric Dental Resident (PGY2) at NYU Langone - San Diego site.
Dr. Ava Arshadi was born in Southern California, and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She obtained her DDS degree at the University of California San Francisco, and completed a general dentistry residency on the Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation in Tucson, Arizona.
She went on to serve as a general dentist in the National Health Service Corps for several years, where she treated primarily children in underserved communities at federally qualified health centers in the Bay Area. During this time, Dr. Arshadi recognized the socioeconomic and psychosocial obstacles children often face in receiving timely and adequate dental care. Combined with her passion for public health, she chose to pursue a pediatric dental residency to further her knowledge in the specialty so that she can better serve the children of our most vulnerable communities.
Dr. Arshadi is currently a 2nd year resident at the NYU Langone – San Diego pediatric dentistry residency program. She serves as a Graduate Student Legislative and Advocacy Intern through the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD). After graduation, she is eager to continue her efforts in being an advocate for children on both the state and national level.
