Anxious students are now more commonly seen during our teaching careers. Generation Z makes up the majority of our current predoctoral and postdoctoral students. We will discuss social determinants of health that impact a student's life during their time in school, specifically what can contribute to their anxiety, especially how they grew up in the age of social media and its impact. In addition, we will address how faculty members/educators can best give feedback to these types of students and how to give support.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify what challenges that Generation Z may have as students, including anxiety.
Upon completion, participant will be able to modify their teaching methods to best meet the needs of the new generation.
Upon completion, participant will be able to define entrustable professional activities (EPAs) and apply EPAs to their evaluations and giving feedback.
