Purpose: The aim of this 12-month retrospective study was to analyze the trends of no-show appointments according to the type of appointment scheduled in children at a community health clinic in Casa Grande, AZ, U.S.A.
Methods: Data from children aged 0–17 years who were patients of record and scheduled for appointments were collected and categorized into groups based on the type of appointment. The data was assessed for any trends specific to each type of appointment.
Results: Two-thousand eight-hundred seventy-four appointments were scheduled within a 12-month period. 535 of the 2874 appointments consisted of no-show appointments. 362 (67.7%; P < .001) of the no-show appointments were Dental Child Recall, otherwise known as a periodic oral evaluation. 361 (67.5%, P < .001) appointments were categorized under D-CC Child under the visit type.
