Snehal Nahar, BDS, MDS
Pediatric Dental Resident, UConn Health
I’m Snehal Nahar, a second-year pediatric dental resident at UConn Health in Connecticut. Originally from India, I completed my BDS and MDS in Pediatric Dentistry before moving to the United States five years ago—a decision that has been one of the most rewarding of my life.
My passion for pediatric dentistry began early in my career, and it has only deepened over the years. Working with children is incredibly fulfilling; their energy, honesty, and smiles brighten each day and constantly remind me why I chose this specialty. I feel privileged to play a role in creating positive dental experiences that can shape a child’s lifelong oral health journey.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy traveling, practicing yoga, meditation, and swimming. These activities help me stay balanced and bring fresh energy into both my personal and professional life. They also fuel my curiosity and love for learning about new cultures and perspectives—something that greatly influences how I connect with patients and families from all walks of life.
I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD). It’s an inspiring community of professionals dedicated to excellence and advocacy in children’s oral health. Being a part of this organization motivates me to contribute meaningfully to our field and to always strive for growth and impact.
I’m excited for the journey ahead and look forward to making a valuable contribution to pediatric dentistry through compassion, dedication, and continuous learning.
