Mitra Marvasti-Sitterly, DMD is a second year pediatric dental resident at the University of Connecticut, where she is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to children and adolescents. A graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Marvasti-Sitterly earned her DMD in 2022 with honors including the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Outstanding Senior Award and consistent placement on the Dean’s List. She also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Her clinical experience spans both general and pediatric dentistry, including work with special needs patients and underserved populations through her roles at Children’s Dentistry of Chicopee and Simsbury Pediatric and Adolecent Dentistry.
Dr. Marvasti-Sitterly brings a strong research background, having presented nationally on topics such as facial paralysis and obstructive sleep apnea. A former Senior Research Coordinator in the Facial Animation Laboratory at Tufts, she has contributed to studies examining quality-of-life outcomes in patients with facial movement disorders.
In addition to her clinical and academic endeavors, Dr. Marvasti-Sitterly has demonstrated a passion for teaching, previously serving as a didactic and clinical teaching assistant at Tufts and as a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and enjoys blending her background in aesthetics, orofacial pain, and sleep medicine into her holistic approach to pediatric care.
