Dr. Aekta Patel, DDS is a currently pediatric dental resident at the University of Florida College of Dentistry (2023-2025). She earned her DDS from New York University College of Dentistry and an MS in Biomedical Science (Oral Biology and Pathology) from Stony Brook University, where she conducted research and defended her research thesis on temperature changes with different drilling protocols for implants in dentistry. Her Academic journery also includes Preceptorship in prothodontics at University of Michigan and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from K M Shah Dental College,India.
With a strong commitment to serving underserved populations, Dr. Patel has worked as a Public Health Dentist at Cabarrus Health Alliance, NC, and has held associate positions in pediatric dental offices across North Carolina and South Carolina. She has gained expertise in comprehensive pediatric dental care, behavior management, nitrous sedation, and oral health education.
Her research interests focus on public health, preventive dentistry, and basic science, with an emphasis on improving pediatric oral health outcomes. She has presented her work at professional conferences and contributed to studies advancing evidence-based dental practices.
