David Casal, DMD, is currently a PGY-1 resident completing his Pediatric Dentistry training at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, he is pursuing a 2-year Master of Dental Science degree during his Pediatric Dental Residency. He was born in Lima, Peru, and was raised in Woodbridge, New Jersey. He later went to Rutgers University in New Brunswick to receive his bachelor's degree in biology in 2019. Later, he earned his DMD degree at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in 2023. After graduating from dental school, he also pursued an AEGD residency program at NYU Langone Health in Dover, New Jersey. During his Pediatric Dental Residency, he was part of the Cheerful Heart Dental Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic and treated over 600 patients living in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Starting in January of 2024, David was on a weight loss journey and was able to lose 52 pounds in one year. David likes to go to the gym routinely, try new restaurants with friends, play tennis and soccer, and do karaoke. David is a fanatic with the Rubik's Cube and can solve the 3x3x3 cube in under a minute.
