Pediatric Resident
NYU Langone Dental Medicine, Brooklyn, NY
Dr. Tomomi Ida was born and raised in Tokyo and on Yokota Air Force Base in Japan. She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Japanese, as well as a master’s of science in Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering. While working as a medical receptionist at St. Luke’s Clinic in Honolulu, she developed a strong interest in the healthcare field. This led her to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist at New York University College of Dentistry, followed by completion of a residency at NYU Langone’s AEGD program in Seattle. As a general dentist, she practiced for several years at the Community Health Center of Snohomish in Washington, where she discovered a passion for treating pediatric patients. Dr. Ida is currently a PGY-2 pediatric dental resident at NYU Langone Health’s Hawaii site and is enjoying being back near her family. Her goal is to provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and to improve oral health within the community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, eating out, and cooking.
