Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA
Dr. Haylea Craigmiles is a second-year pediatric dental resident at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh who hails from The Heartland. She obtained her BS in Biological Sciences and BA in Religious Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia followed by her DDS from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Haylea served as a Captain in the US Air Force as a part of the Health Professions Scholarship Program, completing a 1-year AEGD at Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center in Ohio and serving the remainder of her commitment at Whiteman AFB in Missouri. Prior to beginning her pediatric dental residency, she worked as general dentist at a federally-qualified health center in her hometown of Butler, Missouri, where she enjoyed serving the community in which she was raised.
Haylea is passionate about access to care for vulnerable populations and looks forward to addressing the comprehensive dental needs of rural Missouri and Kansas youth when she returns home. At the same time, she has thoroughly enjoyed the unique challenges and complexities of hospital dentistry, and hopes to also serve on staff as a part of a multi-disciplinary hospital team in the future.
