Oonagh Coughlan, BDS (Hons) NUI, pDIP PCD, MFD is a second year pediatric dental resident at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Oonagh graduated dentistry with an Honours Degree from University College Cork, Ireland in 2019. Upon graduation, she worked in private practice in Dublin where she gained experience in general dentistry and regularly attended courses in endodontics, aesthetic dentistry and Continuous Professional Development. Oonagh is a Member of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where she earned her Dip PCD and MFDS RCSI. In 2022, Oonagh gained experience in pediatric dentistry working as Senior House Officer in Pediatric Dentistry at Dublin Dental University Hospital and Crumlin Children's Hospital Ireland. She enjoys being active in the dental community and has presented posters at many international conferences. Oonagh is passionate about teaching and in 2023, she completed a Certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education from University College Cork. She is committed to expanding her skills and knowledge and is pursuing her Masters in Oral Biology at Texas A&M College of Dentistry this fall, as well as gaining experience in Special Care Dentistry. Oonagh is engaged to her fiance, Andrew, and they are getting married this November in a castle in Ireland. Outside of dentistry and education, Oonagh enjoys reading, traveling and walking her puppy, Chulainn.
