Dr. Swanson is a pediatric dental resident at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children’s Hospital and is also pursuing her MPH at The Ohio State University. She received her DDS from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. At Nationwide Children's Hospital, Dr. Swanson is a leading volunteer in the Butterfly Paws therapy dog program where she and her dog, Smokin, provide therapy services to patients, families, and staff. Dr. Swanson is also involved with American Kennel Club dog shows as an active participant since 2005 and a licensed junior showmanship judge since 2017. Her clinical and professional interests include animal-assisted interventions, dental public health, and access to care for patients with rare diseases (focusing on ectodermal dysplasia).
