My name is Ghata Patel, and I am currently working as the Chief Pediatric Dental Resident at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. I earned my DMD degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Over the past nine years, since graduating from dental school in the United States, I have been dedicated to providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for pediatric and special needs patients. Upon completing my residency, I plan to transition into a private practice setting. Throughout my career, I have recognized the growing need for moderate sedation in the outpatient setting, particularly to deliver dental care to uncooperative and highly anxious patients. My research project, titled "Alignment of Sedation Training and Current Practices of Pediatric Dentists through Education Assessment," aims to align educational training with real-world practices to better prepare pediatric dentists after graduation.
