Dr. Kyla Combs is currently a second-year pediatric dental resident within NYU Langone Dental Medicine, Yakima, Washington site. Kyla was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a child, she admired how her pediatric dentist was equipped with a certain ability to center and focus the appointment on the patient’s dental needs, eliminating the anxiety and fear that comes from being in a dental office – through creative means. This admiration led to her pursuit in becoming a pediatric dentist. She attended Creighton University School of Dentistry for dental school. She then continued her professional development and civic involvement with a General Practice Residency at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. After completion of her GPR, she practiced in a Pediatric office, treating patients often overlooked by the healthcare system. As a co-resident and the chief resident, Kyla brings laughter and a huge smile to every room. Kyla enjoys spending time with her family and friends; exploring a new city; trying different foods; and watching Korean Dramas or Anime. She has one roommate – a Goldendoodle named Axel. He is very friendly and loves to cuddle.
