Dr. Arun Mamachan Xavier is a PhD Scholar in the Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry, Amrita School of Dentistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, India. His funded research is in the area of “Reproductive and Child Health” under the Grant-in-Aid (GIA) Scheme of the Department of Health Research (DHR-ICMR) of the Government of India.
Dr. Arun completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry from A. B. Shetty Dental College, Mangalore, and was awarded ‘The Best Outgoing Post Graduate Student by Overall Performance’ in 2010. He was conferred the MFDS RCSEd in November 2024.
He has widely presented in Dentistry and Medical scientific events and has won several accolades including Classified Winner of the Bright Smiles Bright Futures award (IAPD 2015 - Glasgow, Scotland), Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Services in Pediatric Dentistry (2016 - Indian Dental Association); ‘Young Pedodontist Research Award 2017’ (Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry), Young Researcher Award 2018 (International Award of Excellence, London, UK, 2018), Academician of the Year 2018 (IDRR), ‘Specialist Dentist of the Year 2018 – Pedodontist’ (Famdent) and many more to his credit. Dr. Arun has 56 scientific publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals.
His clinical areas of special interest include Oral Health counseling, Anticipatory guidance, Preventive Dentistry, and Cariology.
