Uncomplicated crown fractures involve enamel and dentin without pulp exposure. Prompt and effective management is crucial to restore function, aesthetics, and patient confidence.
Case Report: 8-year-old male presented for an emergency dental visit following a wrestling incident. Clinical examination revealed uncomplicated crown fractures of teeth #8 and #9 with no pulpal exposure. Periapical radiographs confirmed the diagnosis, and the patient was asymptomatic. Composite restorations were completed. A follow-up visit showed stable restorations with no complications. Six months later the patient returned for an emergency evaluation after falling off a scooter, resulting in re-traumatized teeth #8 and #9. Clinical findings included recurrent uncomplicated crown fractures, two lower lip lacerations, and an 8 mm overjet.
Conclusion: This case highlights the challenges of managing recurrent uncomplicated crown fractures and underscores the importance of comprehensive care, including aesthetic restoration, prevention, and long-term orthodontic planning.
