318 - Relationship between FMDR under GA and Post-Op Recall Attendance

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine patient compliance on attendance to periodic oral evaluations after receiving treatment in the operating room under general anesthesia and if consequent dental work was treatment planned. 

Methods: From a list of patients ages 0 to 5 years old seen between January 2021 to January 2024 in our 2 sites two sites, Ricardo Salinas Dental Clinic and COHCR Grad Pedo clinic, patients treated in OR under GA for dental rehabilitation were screened for further treatment needs. Patient list was generated for CDT codes OR Code D9420. Then, further screened for subsequent visits for exam or treatment using Recall code D0120, Restorative codes for Amalgams (D2140, D2150, D2160), Stainless Steel Crowns (D2930, D2934, D2929), Resins (D2330, D2331, D2332, D2335, D2391, D2392, D2393, D2394), Extractions (D7140), and Nitrous Oxide (D9230). UT Health San Antonio IT generated a patient list at both clinics and filtered for patients billed codes D0145 and D0120 and primary and initial caries codes. From patient pool gathered, manual search was performed for OR referrals and age of patient at first OR visit/referral.
